June General Meeting
June 20th General Meeting Host – Russ Caterinicchio
The June General Meeting took us to the Port St. Lucie Police Department’s Police Athletic League facilities in Rotary Neighborhood Park, on SE Tiffany Avenue in Port St. Lucie, where Officer Fabio Improta gave us an overview of what PAL does for the city’s youth and its importance to the community. Afterwards the youth karate class put on a demonstration of their skills, the highlight of which was watching each of the 12 class members demonstrate basic striking techniques, including punches (Zuki), kicks (Geri), and blocks (Uke). The Karate demonstration climaxed with each practitioner striking and splitting pine boards.
Afterwards. Russ Caterinicchio presented a club donation of $150 to PAL. Check out the pictures below…typically we say the “cars are the stars”, but not on this day. The kids stole the show! Afterwards the June General Meeting was held, followed by members enjoying their self-prepared picnic lunches. There are 29 images in the slide show below. For more images, follow the link below.
