#3 – 2023 Covid Rebel Cruisers
“Get your motor running, head out on the highway!” – Steppenwolf’s Born to be Wild (1968)
The Cruisers were born out of the inactivity that many car clubs in the Treasure Coast found themselves in during the early days of the Pandemic…no meetings, no cruises, no shows! So, independent of their clubs, and wanting to drive their classic cars, while adhering to CDC guidelines (easier to do inside a vehicle), various car club members from around the area began scheduling (rebelling?) Saturday cruises to various locations around or near the Treasure Coast Communities. The destination was usually a restaurant that was open and following CDC guidelines. Covid Rebel Cruisers would plan out all the details, including a place to rendezvous, before striking out on an interesting drive on the back roads of the area. Oh yes, there was almost always a stop scheduled at a legendary ice cream parlor to wrap up that Saturday’s cruise!
Thanks to member Andre Rayman, you can view the many photos of their cruise activities, as well as other non-club events, by CLICKING HERE.
